Comfort food - what does that mean ?
There are people with a healthy appetite, and they constantly eat a larger amount of food. On the other hand, there are people who sometimes eat more than usual, without realizing what is going on with them.
Is it because of stress, sadness, or something else? Latest research has shown that some people are overeating because they feel lonely. Not alone, but lonely. Women who constantly feel isolated or not wanted are eating more than others.
The classic meal will not satisfy them, and even larger ones may seem too small for them.
Scientists are saying that our body is telling us, and giving us a sign that we need a company. Friends, family, partner, anyone who will be there for/with us.
Why is that? Well, it is known for so many decades and centuries that it is completely normal for people to gather when they eat any dish. It is like a custom, and our body wants to " force " us to go out and share food with someone.
Lonely women feel hungry almost all day, and it is not because they didn't eat anything, it is because subconsciously they feel lonely, and they find comfort and company in a food.
Socializing is in the human blood and nature. What is interesting is that isolation made skinny women even more " ugly " while the bigger ones stayed the same, it's like it didn't have any impact on them.
Scientists think that it is because bigger women don't find socializing as something important for them.
